Thorn

Thorn is a thought-provoking, philosophical, pro-art short novel for older readers (teens and up).

14-year-old Thorn wakes up one morning hovering over her own body. Watching herself go about her days from a distance, she bounces around her past, present and future, gradually putting together the pieces of her life. Through love and resistance, Thorn is faced with how she sees herself, and must figure out if the things that mattered before are what are really important.

Clare Pollard called it: ‘A small, slant and devastating masterpiece. I loved it.

Coral Rumble said: ‘A.F. Harrold has done it again, he has written a story that nobody else could have imagined. 5 stars for originality.

And myth-making educationalist, Jonny Walker, wrote: ‘It’s ambitious, a real fever dream of a short read and I can’t recommend it enough.’
